Meet, greet and eat
(To be perfectly honest, Cornelius didn't expect to find other persona users outside of himself and Guzma. The head of the Skull gang was a stroke of luck, but to have found so many others who can tap into that power and help fight off the shadows...it's a welcome relief.
Not to mention the large, large expansion to Cornelius' circle of friends.
So what's a rich kid to do when he's happy to have an extended circle like this? Throw down. A bunch of money to get everyone nice and fed for a day. He arranged for a catered picnic and invited his fellow persona-users and any friends they wanted to bring along. There's a bit of something for everyone, so pizzas, sandwiches, whatever, really. It's a large, open space, too, of anyone's in the mood for playing around. Just like the food, there's plenty of options there.
Cornelius would be lying if he said he wasn't thrilled to have so many people to hang out with. He just hopes they'll have fun while they're here.)

I'm sure it is. The teachers back at Yasogami were... they didn't want to try anymore honestly.

It kinda makes me wonder if they ever thought about retirement. I mean, are they still there teachin'? Was it just to me, or do they just not give a single crap anymore? Much as I'd hate seein' 'em again, I might be doin' some future students a favor...
no subject
I'm sure they considered. Some teachers are passionate about their jobs, but for others, it's only a paid occupation and they have no other means of income. That's only the reality of it.

Ya think you'd wanna love teachin' people... I love the classes I run. But I guess I also get to call my own hours, not needta deal with school budgets or any'a that crap.
Huh.. I got a question: If ya didn't follow your parents and get into detective work, what wouldja be doin'? Like... what's another passion you'd take up in a heartbeat? 'Cause I know you. You'd never settle into a paid occupation.
no subject
If I didn't? Hm... I think I would go into custom engineering.

[He hadn't even touched his food. Instead, his chin went into his hands as he slouched over the table. He'll nosh eventually, but how long had it been since he heard her voice without the phone muddling it up?]

[She might not be a detective in this scenario, but making her toys from childhood, she wouldn't mind refining them further for actual use.]

I take it no lasers, huh? Color me shocked you ain't makin' some kinda sci-fi blaster.
no subject
I can't just trust anyone with a laser like that. I wouldn't be the detective using the tools in this instance, remember?
no subject
You'd make a killer Q. Invites the agents to a secret lab three miles below earth's crust, unveiling a few "toys" she's had kicking around in her mind over the weeks. Her finest work.

[He paused, decided to let it go.]
Y'get this look when you're in the damn zone, y'know, and it makes my stomach jumpy. I just imagined this look when you're hunched over this huge multi-million-dollar tech lab...
...I should show ya the robotics department at the university sometime.

[Too bad; she wanted to hear the end of his statement.]
Is that right? You know, you do similar when you're working as well. Though I should have better restraint, there are some occasions I... want to interrupt you.
... I would enjoy that.

[He tugged his collar a bit. Did the cafe need to turn on their heat? Gosh. It wasn't cold enough for that just yet. Because that's what it was.]
Oh! Great, let's do it. I'll send 'em an email tonight before bed. They'll wanna show off a bit, and I figure why turn that kinda stuff down when they're proud of the work they do.
no subject
[Funny how warm it seems suddenly.]
Alright. Well, everyone has their views on showing works in progress.

But the rumors I heard? [He whistled. A robot capable of fighting, and it'll be matched against one made in America? He couldn't believe he lived in an era where mecha battles were REAL. Ooh, but he couldn't tell her. It'll burn in his soul, this little secret, but he wanted that certain look on her face way, way more.]
You're gonna love it. You'll see.
no subject
[Just like with the fritter at this cafe... which she would have a small bite of.]

[A smirk, and he dug into his portion. He wished he could have more nights like this... but he found them more precious as they were. He wondered if she felt the same.]
no subject
[Humming, she took another bite. It really was delicious.. If only time permitted her more opportunities with him.]

[He said the c word and it had her face color.] Well... I'm anxious to see the department if they don't mind us coming by...
no subject
Makin' it happen.
[He hoped they were up and around, but he began a swift pair of texts. If they were working as hard as they say, then there was no doubt they'd have long hours at least in leisure if not doing some touch-ups before they retire for the night.]
What day ya wanna do it?
no subject
[Swallowing, she considered.]
Monday or Thursday would work.

[And sent. Ooh, if they knew what's good for 'em, they'd get off their asses and hit him up with a reply. Satisfied, he took his tea and drained it, lowering the cup to the table with a satisfying tap.]
A'right, pins n' needles time! Rgh-
[He puffed out a breath.]
Th-that tea was hotter than I anticipated...!

Should I get you a glass of water?
