Meet, greet and eat

(To be perfectly honest, Cornelius didn't expect to find other persona users outside of himself and Guzma. The head of the Skull gang was a stroke of luck, but to have found so many others who can tap into that power and help fight off the shadows...it's a welcome relief.

Not to mention the large, large expansion to Cornelius' circle of friends.

So what's a rich kid to do when he's happy to have an extended circle like this? Throw down. A bunch of money to get everyone nice and fed for a day. He arranged for a catered picnic and invited his fellow persona-users and any friends they wanted to bring along. There's a bit of something for everyone, so pizzas, sandwiches, whatever, really. It's a large, open space, too, of anyone's in the mood for playing around. Just like the food, there's plenty of options there.

Cornelius would be lying if he said he wasn't thrilled to have so many people to hang out with. He just hopes they'll have fun while they're here.)

[He raised his hand to flag someone down and make a request for water. So much for staying smooth. He had a habit of doing something in his over confidence, and his tongue will feel that come morning.]

I usually like tea pretty piping, but just... just in sips, y'know? But Ma, even now, she just takes it down like it's nothin'!

Or maybe it's old person stubbornness, I dunno.

[Oh good. Someone was able to get him water quickly. Still, unfortunate he burned himself.]

That's true. She's had years of drinking tea... Grampa can be similar.

[He drank deep. So much for tasting anything for a couple of days. But it's just as well, as he'd had his fill of food for the night.]

Oh well... guess I gotta build a tolerance so when I'm up there and over the hill I can drink lava and be totally cool with it. I'll be a hit in Hawaii!

[How unfortunate. Guess she would be the only one savoring the fritter for today.]

Hmhm, I'm sure people would enjoy the show. [Though... one time performance.]

Yeah, but I couldn't exactly tour with it. My old ass'd hafta find some other talent. Maybe long-winded stories while I shake my cane at 'em...

Anyway. Enough about Silver Fox Kanji Tatsumi! Sheesh, that's way ahead. I mean, I gotta finish college, think about stuff like... like... y'know...!

Hm... I mean, I don't see why you couldn't just tour doing elaborate knits.

Ah, yes... we can't talk about you being an 'old man' if you don't think about settling down.

I mean, is there a market for it? I dunno...

[He rubbed the back of his head.]

S-settling... see...! I-I wanna do that sorta stuff! Is it weird to think about? Too early...?

I think so.

[There was a market for everything.]

Not at all. Some people think about settling down sooner... Though, perhaps it would be better to say they dream about settling down.

Y-yeah, that... that latter one. I'm not in much of a hurry, really. I just think about how cool it'd be. I didn't think it was possible back when Dad... y'know. I was real angry and I wasn't up for bein' around anybody.

[He lowered his chin into both hands, but smirked.]

Now it's finishing school so I can be somebody that nobody'd mind gettin' hitched to. I can still throw a punch, but now I can throw a punch and have a degree... Sexy, yeah?

[She nodded, understanding and thinking about how she'd considered similar at some points. It was... tough, reaching the point they had.]

Mmm, quite appealing yes. Stability and protection...

So damn stable. A castle wall! I throw off my cap n' gown, then... then I let 'em have it. On the damn day, if it gets down to it. Like...

[Hands lowered, fists atop the table. Conviction steeled his gaze, yet there was nothing cold in it. There never seemed to be, whenever he turned his eyes on her.]

I got a degree, but there's still so much I gotta learn. What I know like the back of my hand is how complete I feel, but there's somethin' missing. One more piece of the puzzle. One of many more that I can't n' won't solve alone. Not after what ya taught me.

[Then his features softened.]

Y'know, like that. Maybe it'll sound better eventually, I dunno...

[She was listening to him with her face progressively shifting from pink to red to a deeper scarlet. Was he practicing proposing? Imagining it? Right here and now and staring at her??]

I-I think you'll... y-you'll manage perfectly when the time comes.

[Was he hearing a kettle whistling somewhere? He couldn't tell. But his face felt prickly and hot, and he toyed with his fork.]

Yeah, I hope so...

[The smile was small, lopsided and shy. As his own face darkened, he cleared his throat.]

L-let's get goin'.

[O-Oh... they kind of absentmindedly finished off the fritter and their tea. Yup, they were done.]

Yes, let's be on our way. The others must be wondering where we are by now.

[He shrugged.]

Ah, let 'em wonder. I'm all yours for the evening and there's a show recording burnin' a hole in my DVR.
