Meet, greet and eat

(To be perfectly honest, Cornelius didn't expect to find other persona users outside of himself and Guzma. The head of the Skull gang was a stroke of luck, but to have found so many others who can tap into that power and help fight off the shadows...it's a welcome relief.

Not to mention the large, large expansion to Cornelius' circle of friends.

So what's a rich kid to do when he's happy to have an extended circle like this? Throw down. A bunch of money to get everyone nice and fed for a day. He arranged for a catered picnic and invited his fellow persona-users and any friends they wanted to bring along. There's a bit of something for everyone, so pizzas, sandwiches, whatever, really. It's a large, open space, too, of anyone's in the mood for playing around. Just like the food, there's plenty of options there.

Cornelius would be lying if he said he wasn't thrilled to have so many people to hang out with. He just hopes they'll have fun while they're here.)

I guess. I had my tonsils removed way back when. Ate ice cream, jello and chewed ice a bunch but that was the long and the short of it.

Wait... you're not sick, are you?

Oooh, that sounds tasty.

Hmm... I am, but it's not contagious.

Yeah, they said lots of cold, mild stuff can help numb the stitches and it'd also make me feel better since I was still... crap, how old was I...? I don't remember. I was a kid but kinda at the end of it.

...Huh. Well, you're not in a glass bubble or anything, and Tokyo's a pretty clean spot. You from here?

So, a pre-teen?

No. I was born in America, but then my dad had to move to Mexico for research, and then we finally came here. Him and my brother are trying to find a cure, but meanwhile, I have to take a lot of tests in the hospital and make sure I don't hurt myself.

Huh... I thought I recognized your accent.

[He frowned.]

Wait, 'don't hurt yourself'? What, you just bruise like hell?

Yup. I can start bleeding pretty easily sometimes, but that's why I have to take my medicine.

America. Hawaii specifically. ...Wait, why didn't you tell me this stuff before Tag? You could've gotten in some deep dogshit!

Wow! Hawaii? I've only seen pictures of it, but what's it like?

Because I've never played Tag, and if I brought it up, you probably wouldn't have let me play either. As long as I'm careful, it's okay. Still, I'm sorry I didn't say anything.

I'd have let you play but we tend to play hard, knamsayin? We're not here to kill anybody, least of all a nice kid. That's not the Skull's game.

[He polished off the pizza slice.]

Eh... but it's nice there, I guess. Warm. Buggy.

You're already careful enough with me. I'll be okay.

[She took another bite of her pizza in the meantime.]

So... it's humid there?

If you say so.

Humid? ...Yeah, sometimes. We're surrounded by ocean so there's no shortage of the water drawn up into the air, but it's real breezy, too. You've got bugs, but then you've got the other animals, and the people... the culture's pretty staunch.

And I don't mean like pancakes or some marshmallow sandwich or whatever. I mean like the gods, the spirits, the vocabulary... we're part of the country but we try to be as unique as we can. I like it! I miss it sometimes. Just not... other stuff.

Not some other stuff? Hm... I guess I could understand that.

Still, you can always try visiting at least. So, you're not there for long, but just enough not to feel homesick.

Right... I appreciate it, but I'm not all that homesick. You and your fam can visit all they want, though.

Hm... Maybe. It's on a list of places I want to visit.

It's real sunny most days too, so you wanna be armed with one of those umbrellas of yours. But definitely stick your toes in the sand and sit on any of the beaches for a while. Changes a man. ...Or a woman, in this case.

Hm, well, I guess I was born in Maine? That's where daddy adopted me anyway. And before here, we lived outside of Puebla City.

Puebla... Mexico, then. -- Wait. They take a girl like you near the freaking Equator!?

They did, but we leaved close to the mountains so it wasn't so bad.

Oh. Huh. ...Well... welcome to this group of assholes. Corndawg's a decent guy, but we're supposed to save the city or something?

Yes! I heard! I'll be providing you guys support when you go into a dungeon with my Persona. Or whenever a Shadow pops up in the city, I'll be able to help locate it.

Hmh... what about looking for people inside?

I can do that too. Though, I'll need to know a little about them in order to locate them.

[It wasn't his story to tell. Most of his members were runaways, strays from society, and some... some had stories he promised to keep so locked up tight that he wasn't sure what to do if they went missing.]

...That sucks. Not just a name or a face, huh? I wonder why.
